Try New Fruits

Ok so to continue my adventures with new foods I think I am going to start out by trying new fruits.  With so many drinks, gums, yogurt and other things flavored like different fruits I believe that I will at least already have a sense of what some of these fruits are going to taste like.  So it will really just be getting used to the different textures of all of the fruits that will be the challenge.  The fruits that are currently in my diet are apples, bananas and grapes so besides those  which other fruit do you think would be the best to start out with or what is your favorite fruit?  I am thinking that I might start with strawberries, thoughts?

  1. I’m a (very!) picky eater too and plain strawberries are a little too tart for me. My favorite fruit is watermelon, and I HIGHLY recommend it. If you’d like to try strawberries, I’d suggest having them incorporated with other foods. For example, in a smoothie/milkshake, or in a dessert like strawberry shortcake (that’s how I tried them.) I find it’s a little less overwhelming to try new foods when they’re paired with something I already like.

    1. Awesome thank you for the suggestions!!! I went to the grocery store and picked up strawberries and a watermelon today so hopefully when I try them over the course of the week it will go well!

  2. I’m a PE as well and think this blog is a wonderful idea. Cut strawberries into tiny pieces – I bet you will love them. They don’t burst in the mouth like blueberries or raspberries (both of which I love although I only tried blueberries for the first time this year and I’m 41!). Real berries have such good flavors and they are good for you. Enjoy!
