I made one of my family recipes for dinner which is potato pancakes. This is another way to try potatoes and it has a few other new ingredients but not too many. There is a little bit of white onion and parsley in them but you mostly get the taste of potatoes. They are fried so ideally you have the outside nice and crispy for the texture with the inside soft. I think they turned out pretty good for my first batch. I think the thinner you get them the better because then the crispier they are. The onions and parsley give them a slightly different taste.
